An online credit card consists of more than just a credit limit. Depending on the type of online credit card you use, you will find that your online credit card experience differs slightly to the experience of others. While one type of online credit card may save you money, choosing an online credit card that is unsuitable to your use could see you spending more than you need to on credit.

Low interest online credit card

A low interest online credit card can be helpful for those that must pay off their credit card debt beyond the time that interest free days allow. They will often have reasonable annual fees and usual interest free days, but rarely can they be coupled with reward programs.

No fee online credit card

A no fee online credit card sounds great until you look at the other features. Often, these kinds of online credit cards will not include interest free days on purchases and will have exceptionally high interest rates. Those that very rarely use an online credit card may find that the total they pay in interest each year is still quite low, but an online credit card user that must frequent use their card could come away paying more in interest each year than they would have paid using a low fee online credit card that included some interest free days on purchases.

Premium online credit card

A premium online credit card can be very financially rewarding if used responsibly. Often these kinds of online credit card include interest free days and a reward program as positives, with a high interest rate and high annual fee as negatives. If used correctly, though, the interest free days can allow online credit card users to avoid interest charges thus helping in avoiding online credit card debt and the reward program can be rewarding enough to more than offset the annual fee.
