Avoid online credit card fraud

19 June 2008

No one wants to experience online credit card fraud. By taking precautions, there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to shop online in safety. Banks are constantly updating their security systems to help protect their customers from fraud. But it's important to remember that you need to take action as well for your own online credit card safety. This is especially important if you want to shop online.

To help keep your online credit card safe against fraud, here are a few tips:

  • Always check you bank statements - keep receipts to compare them against.
  • Banks will never send you emails asking for account information - report any emails you recieve that ask you to do this.
  • Regularly change your online credit card PIN and your passwords.
  • Scan your computer for trojans, viruses, malware and spyware on a daily basis.
